Diary Entry #1
I believe President Johnson is making the right choices for this country. I fully stand behind him and the Great Society. I am a older African American man trying to raise a family. When the civil rights act outlawed segregation tears came to my eyes. It is extremely hard raising a family in such a racist and judgmental world. When I told my daughter she was going to join a school filled with mixed colored people her face lit up the room. What the President has done for our country is brillant. He has also helped pass the Higher Education Act allowing more students to attend college through the use of loans. If it wasn't for President Johnson, my older son would have not been able to attend college. I believe the Great Society has been very effective for the citizens of the United States. Many changes were made to improve the economy and the citizens life's for the greater good.
Diary Entry #2
I am a well supporter of President Johnson. I am a nurse at ST. Luthren's Hospital and the lives medical have saved are numerous. Johnson made it able for the young and elderly to be provided with medical care when the Medical Care Act was passed on 1965. This act was a compulsory system which took money out of each paycheck to help provide for others. Once this act was passed, the hospitals were able to treat many more patients. Us nurse's were able to provide them with the proper care that was needed for them to be cured. The President has made it a priority to have the people's life's of our country come first. The quality of life has been greatly magnified ever since the Great Society has been put into play. I only wish for more Presidents like Johnson whom take action and fight for the citizens rights.
Diary #3
All the changes that have been made in this world is just lovely! President Johnson has provided a new beginning for the citizens of the United States. I am a school teacher at Trabuco Mesa Elementary and to see my students get just as equal education as all others is extraordinary. Johnson helped pass the Education and Secondary act in 1965 which wanted federal money to be handed up therefore school would be brought up to code. The goal was for each student to share the same level of education was everyone else was provided with. The money was also used towards libraries, special education, and new technology. Ever since this act was passed, I have been able to teach my kids in a better environment and help them expand their knowledge. President John has done many great things with the Great Society and I greatly appreciate what he has accomplished for his country.
